Passing from poetry to today, the admirably strong city walls are now circumnavigated by the Siena/Florence highway. It is a fortified medieval village that contains a timeless and tranquil world. It is not rare to encounter people dressed in medieval costumes, especially in May when the village celebrates a characteristic medieval feast in the streets branching out from the castle.
Naturally, the local products and excellent hospitality of the area are to be savoured.
